OB Stands Up To Gentrification and Wins!

Hopefully everyone is aware of the great victory for Ocean Beach that took place at City Council on Tuesday August 29. The OB Community Plan Update (12 years in the making) was passed unanimously, and the budget for the Public Facilities Financing Plans passed as well! There’s a great write up and comments on the OB Rag. If you’ve not (re-)registered to Vote since you moved to OB – please take a minute to do so online and consider getting involved with the OB Planning Board, OB Town Council, OB Mainstreet Association, OB Historical Society, Friends of the OB Library, OB Community Foundation, or OB Community Development Corporation.

At its May 29, 2014 hearing, the San Diego Planning Commission attempted to undermine the intent of the Draft Ocean Beach Community Plan. The Draft Community Plan is the result of broad community participation and consensus, and is endorsed by the following organizations: OB Planning Board, OB Town Council, OB Mainstreet Association, OB Historical Society, Friends of the OB Library, OB Community Foundation, OB Community Development Corporation. Background The Community Plan Update identifies OB …
