Nov 24 – Monthly Meeting – Special Election Analysis

This month we’re attempting something new, a moderated discussion by journalists who are covering the Mayoral Special Election. The meeting will be just days after the results of the Primary are known and there will be a lot of speculation, and no doubt work for club members, in the run up to the run off. We invited a group of local journalists from the San Diego Free Press, The San Diego Voice and Viewpoint,  Union Tribune and other local news channels, who have been closely following the tactics and strategies of the various candidates as they compete for your vote. Our panelists will include Andy Cohen San Diego Free Press Andy spent 15 years working in the highest levels of the San Diego professional sports world, including both the Padres and the Chargers. He began his foray into writing while a volunteer for Francine Busby’s 2010 Congressional campaign, eventually becoming a contributor to the now defunct SDNN. He has reported on local and national politics for both the OB Rag and the San Diego Free Press. …

GO Team Volunteers for Special Election Mayoral Race

This is a single-candidate special election; the GO Team will merge with the San Diego County Democratic Party endorsed candidate David Alvarez’s campaign to do one voter-contact program. Cynara Kidwell will coordinate the GO Teamers in the Central West area. We have an office for Democratic outreach in this election at 8312 Clairemont Mesa Blvd, Suite 212. Walking Precinct-level lists will be used for walking. Club members Cynara Kidwell, Nancy Witt and John Loughlin will coordinate the generation and pick up of walk lists from the campaign office for GO Team Precinct Leaders, and will return completed lists to the campaign office for data entry. Phoning There will be daily phonebanking out of the campaign office. Those who want to do phone calls from home will use the Online Phonebank.
