The League of Women Voters of San Diego invites you to attend a Meet the Candidates Reception for candidates vying for the following local offices on the June 3rd ballot San Diego City Council in Districts 2, 4, 6, and 8 Judges in contested races San Diego Unified and San Diego County Boards of Education San Diego District Attorney and San Diego County Assessor When Tuesday, April 29, 6 – 8 pm Where Hall of Champions in Balboa Park Each candidate will be given 2 minutes to introduce him/herself plus have tables to display their campaign literature There will also be time to network among the attendees in an in- formal atmosphere This forum will be conducted according to the guidelines of the League of Women Voters of San Diego Refreshments will be served Your attendance is very important to help make this a meaningful experience Thank you. May 23 – LWV San Diego Wine and Cheese Party at the Women’s Museum

Celebrating and Networking With Wine and Cheese Thursday, May 23, 2013, 5:30-7:30 pm Women’s Museum of California 2730 Historic Decatur Road, Barracks 16, Liberty Station Speaker: Linda Canada Executive Director, Japanese American Historical Society of San Diego, The League of Women Voters of California celebrates another successful year! Please join us for a friend- and fund- raiser at the Women’s Museum of California for a program highlighting the museum’s latest exhibit, “They Did it All: Women of the Issei Generation,” the story of Japanese women who emigrated to the U.S., married, started businesses, and were interned during WWII. We will honor the memory of Miss Breed, the San Diego librarian who sent books to the children who were interned, with the screening of a short video about her and by reading from the book, Letters to Miss Breed, and to introduce a woman who was interned as a child and wrote to Miss Breed. Our speaker provided many of the artifacts for the exhibit. LWV San Diego — Wine and Cheese Party $15 per person …
