As approved by voters this month, Measure B creates a Commission on Police Practices, which would have members appointed by the City Council, its own staff, an independent attorney and the power to subpoena and conduct investigations into police officer misconduct. Geneviève Jones-Wright has served as a Deputy Public Defender with the Office of the Primary Public Defender since 2006, and is a former candidate for District Attorney in San Diego. Ms. Jones-Wright serves as a volunteer attorney with the California Innocence Project and is a mock trial coach and a member of the Criminal Justice Advisory Board at Lincoln High School. Geneviève was recently elected President of the Earl B. Gilliam Bar Association. Andrea St. Julian, Esq, is a past President of the Earl B.
