Inflation has hurt the working poor the hardest. Many of our low-income members travel to north county to clean houses or maintain yards and gasoline costs take a big bite out of their pay, while rents have gone up by as much as 42% in one year in some areas of San Diego!
San Diego’s Back-to-School distribution provides a material manifestation of hope to WSWA members who are actively organizing to end poverty at its root. Our biggest need at all times is for volunteers to pick up and deliver food, work to win affordable utilities and more. But we also need supporters to donate a mountain of school supplies!
