Our Summer Party and Back to School Drive for the WSWA is happening on Sunday August 22 starting at 3:30PM.
We ask that all members and guests are vaccinated, and that CDC and local county COVID-19 guidelines are followed.
This year rather than have a potluck we decided in the interests of safety to have the event catered. So there is no need to bring a dish, but we ask for a minimum donation of $20 to cover the delicious food from ¡Salud!
The Party is on Sunday August 22, starting at 3:30PM at Angela and John’s house – address supplied with entry donation.
The club will furnish Carne Asada and Veggie tacos, beans, Mexican rice, guacamole, onions, cilantro, Cotija cheese, limes, red garlic, salsa, salsa verde, tortillas, quesadilla and mini tortillas, plus two drink tickets per person for wine and (great, local) beer.
Come have a party with your fellow Dems, support the WSWA Back to School Drive and learn about how to help Stop the Recall. Click here.

County Redistricting Process
Another guest at the Summer Party will be Cody Petterson who’ll talk to us about the County redistricting process and ideas for a coastal district.
“On governmental bodies at all levels, unless there’s a district that is predominantly coastal, the issues that affect coastal residents are persistently neglected: stormwater, sea level rise, beach and bluff erosion, short-term vacation rentals (STVRs), reasonable balance between the benefits and burdens of tourism, etc.”
We’ve seen with homelessness, the 30ft height limit, STVRs and neglect of the OB Pier, how are voices are continually ignored. Cody will talk to us about how to get engaged in the redistricting process, so that we’re not jammed into a district that doesn’t reflect and prioritize our interests and concerns.
County of San Diego Redistricting Commission
The County of San Diego Independent Redistricting Commission (IRC) is beginning the work to redraw the boundaries for the County’s five supervisorial districts. District lines can shape a community’s ability to elect the representative of their choice.
