October 27 – Assembly District 78 Endorsement Meeting


At our meeting on Sunday, Octoberer 27, 2019, Point Loma & Ocean Beach Dems will consider endorsing a candidate for Assembly District 78. This district includes all of Point Loma and Ocean Beach and is currently held by Todd Gloria. Read more about the demographics of the 78th here. This is an opportunity for us to ask questions and hear from each of the Democratic candidates during a moderated forum. Please read up on the candidates and bring your questions.

Candidates for Assembly District 78 are:

Only members in good standing will be allowed to vote for the endorsement. If you renewed your membership prior to March 31, 2019, you will be eligible to vote. If you renewed your membership after March 31, 2019 or became a new member, you are only eligible to vote if you have attended a club meeting/event since you renewed/joined. If you renewed or joined at a meeting/event, that counts and you will be eligible to vote. If you are not sure of your status, feel free to ask by emailing vp@pointlomadem.org.

FUTURE MEETINGS

At our November 24, 2019 meeting, we will consider endorsing candidates for San Diego Superior Court Judges, offices 18, 30 and 36. We’ll hear from the candidates as well as learn why these are important elections that we should spread awareness of to our friends, family and communities.

Our meetings are CHILD FRIENDLY- we will have toys, coloring books, snacks, etc. in a “kid space” at the rear of the meeting hall.

After the meeting ends we suggest adjourning to the Point Break Cafe at 2743 Shelter Island Dr to continue our progressive conversation. Happy Hour is until 6:30pm.
