Have you had a chance to read through your 224-page California Voter Information Guide, along with the local guide from the Registrar of Voters? Do you understand all the nuances of the Measures on the November ballot?
Don’t panic! Anne Hoiberg and Howard Wayne will be discussing the Measures and answering your questions this Sunday October 23, at 4pm at our regular meeting at the Point Loma Assembly.
We’ve posted an endorsements flyer from the San Diego County Democratic Party at the top of our website and you can download it here (PDF).
We’ve also posted a link to the 2016 San Diego Progressive Voter Guide from the San Diego Free Press that lists the positions of Labor, the Democratic and Republican parties, as well as the editorial board of the San Diego Free Press.
If you want to check who’s spending money on supporting the Measures, check here at the California Fair Political Practices website.
There are conflicts between these guides:
- Do you support Measure D to dismantle the Tourist Marketing District and prohibit the use of public money for a football stadium?
- Are you persuaded by David Alvarez on Measure I and San Diego High School, or by club member Bruce Coons who helped write the argument against the measure for the ballot guide?
- Do you trust the Mayor on what he says on Measure J for Mission Bay? The Democratic Party says Yes, but Donna Frye says No.
Come along on Sunday to answer these, and other questions, with your fellow clubmembers.
