Last year, Clean Money activists like you and our allies helped pass two historic bills that shine a light on Dark Money and ballot measure spending in California and set an example for the nation, SB 27 (Correa) and SB 844 (Pavley).
You also helped build a huge coalition for SB 52 (Leno-Hill), the California DISCLOSE Act, our bill to show voters who’s really behind political ads. It made it further than any such powerful bill has anywhere in the country.
We’re coming back this year, because the fight against Dark Money and hidden spending on political ads has just begun. We’ll need to show a huge amount of grassroots support to win, so now’s the time to plan for our major push. That’s why we need you!
Join our Southern California Grassroots Summit on March 8
California Clean Money Campaign grassroots leaders and activists throughout Southern California will be coming to a full-day summit on Sunday, March 8th in Culver City. Join us to learn how to talk about the new Clean Money bills and to plan the full-scale grassroots campaign to win in the legislature!
WHAT: Clean Money Grassroots Summit
WHEN: Sunday, March 8th from 9:00am-4:30pm
(Light breakfast at 9:00am. Lunch will also be served.)
WHERE: Culver City, CA (in a handicapped-accessible building)
COST: Free (but donations of $5-$30 toward food and other costs appreciated)
CARPOOLS will be coming from all over, so contact us if you need a ride or can offer one. There is also a Northern California Grassroots Summit in Palo Alto on February 28th.
This is a full-day summit; however, you can come for the entire day or just the morning or afternoon sessions. The morning is a detailed training on the new bill, and the afternoon session is about how to implement the campaign plan.
