Human trafficking is modern day slavery and there are more human slaves in the world right now than ever before in history. In 2013, the National Human Trafficking Resource Center hotline, operated by Polaris, received reports of 3,609 sex trafficking cases inside the United States. San Diego is rated the 8th largest city in the U.S. for prostitution of girls under 16, many of whom have been trafficked.
In response to this growing issue, the offices of Congressman Scott Peters and California State Senator Marty Block welcome you to a “Human Trafficking Forum” to learn what your local, state, and federal leaders are doing to combat human trafficking.
