Don’t Make Us Pay For Your Mistakes at San Onofre

To be delivered to: Mayor Bob Filner, Mayor of San Diego, Jan Goldsmith, San Diego City Attorney, and Greg Cox, Chairman County Board of Supervisors.

The utilities companies botched repairs at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station. Now the plant is closed, and the utility companies want California customers to pay over $500 million for the ill-fated repairs. We say the utilities companies should pay, not consumers.

That’s why I signed a petition to Mayor Bob Filner, Mayor of San Diego, Jan Goldsmith, San Diego City Attorney, and Greg Cox, Chairman County Board of Supervisors, which says:

“Utilities companies want California homeowners to pick up the tab for their mistakes at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station. With the plant now closed, these companies are trying to pass on to consumers hundreds of millions of dollars in costs for the ill-fated repairs.

We are asking elected city and county officials to intervene with regulators on our behalf. These companies should be held accountable. Customers should not have to pay for corporate mistakes.

Sign the petition and pass it on. Help us protect California homeowners.”
