Thomas Mulcair is the newly elected leader of the New Democratic Party (NDP), the official opposition party in the Canadian Parliament. The NDP is the fourth largest progressive party in North America. In sharp contrast to the current GOP freak show, the NDP leadership contest featured positive campaigns and all paid up NDP members nationwide voting online.
