If you have not seen it already, be sure to read Melanie Nickel’s fine tribute to Nancy in the March 8th Beacon.
My fondest memory of Nancy was from the four years we served together on the Club’s E-Board, 1995-1998. The previous year had seen a sharp drop in the Club’s membership and attendance. We were meeting on Saturday mornings at a local bar, and the best speakers we could attract were out there on the fringes. The new E-Board wanted to turn things around. Our success in doing so and again making the Point Loma Democratic Club one of the larger Clubs in the County took a combined effort of the E-Board and the membership. Teamwork got the job done, and Nancy Shank was a very important part of that team!
